Marlborough Disney and musical theatre fans may have their wishes granted when Blenheim Musical Theatre’s twisted take on Aladdin opens on 29 October, running to 14 November at Lakings Road theatre.
Twisted retells the classic story from the perspective of Jafar, exploring the villain’s backstory and motivations. Directors Frankie and Steve Teague-Wytenburg say the production gives Jafar more depth while delivering plenty of comedy, poking fun at the original tale and others.
Frankie says the R16-rated show will appeal to Disney fans looking for something different. Rehearsals are progressing well, with strong ticket sales and more expected closer to opening night.
