On Monday 5th October 2026 while in Hospice care, passed away after a short illness, aged 91. Dearly loved husband of Judi for 46 years. Much loved father and father-in-law to Nicola, Donald & Kim, Jaime & Sheri. Special Grandad to Jonathan and Jayde. Loved brother, uncle and friend.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to St John Ambulance for the many saving midnight transfers that they provided, the nursing team at Wairau Hospital, Hospice Marlborough and Cloudy Bay Funeral Home for their wonderful and compassionate care of John.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St John Ambulance or Hospice Marlborough would be greatly appreciated via their websites.

In accordance with John’s wishes, a private family cremation will take place.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street, Blenheim on Tuesday 8th December 2026 at 2.00pm.

The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the Cloudy Bay Funeral Services website.
