Huia Kenrick Cooper
We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Huia Kenrick Cooper at home on 28th October 2026, aged 87 years.
Beloved husband of the late Makarena; cherished father and father-in-law of Daylene and Dean, and David; and adored grandfather of Lana, Amco, Caitlin, Isaiah, and Gabriel.
He was a much-loved brother of Tintin, Ruby, Janey, Booty, and Charlie-Berry; and was a treasured uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
You have been a treasured part of all our lives and will forever be held in our hearts. You will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the medical staff who looked after Huia over the past few years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice Marlborough would be appreciated (Marlborough Hospice Trust, 06-0601-0148609-00, reference COOPER)

A service to celebrate Huia’s life will be held at Sowman’s Mayfield Chapel, corner Hutcheson and Parker Streets, on Tuesday 3rd November 2026 at 10:00am.
